On the afternoon of Thursday, 3rd September 2026, the Bar Association of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Ministry of Tourism held a meeting and signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding between the two institutions. The ceremony was presided over by H.E. HUOT Hak, Minister of Tourism, and Attorney SAING Vannak, President of the Bar Association of the Kingdom of Cambodia, with the participation of leaders from both institutions.
The purpose of the Memorandum of Understanding is to strengthen cooperation in promoting legal awareness and the implementation of laws in the tourism sector. Under the Memorandum of Understanding, the two institutions will:
1. Appoint an Attorney to serve at the Ministry of Tourism.
2. Continue providing legal advice and consultation.
3. Assist in coordinating and resolving disputes related to the tourism sector.
4. Provide training to officials of the Ministry of Tourism and contribute to promoting the potential of Cambodia’s tourism sector more broadly.
It is worth noting that the Bar Association of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Ministry of Tourism previously signed their first Memorandum of Understanding on 22nd March 2021. The signing ceremony held today marks the second MoU between the two institutions, reaffirming their continued commitment to strengthening cooperation.
